PSYCHOTHERAPY PROCESS

Have you put off therapy or coaching because you felt it would mean there is something wrong with you?  Nonsense! I have heard it time and time again:  "I've wanted to do this for a long time but I just didn't want to admit something was wrong with me.  Now that I'm here I realize it's not that something’s wrong, I just want something more".

Therapy does not mean you're broken; it is a tool for personal growth.  If you want to gain awareness and learn more about you and your potential for increased wellness and fulfillment, therapy or coaching can give you the tools.

In a safe and supportive environment, you will learn to use specific methods to reduce anxiety and depression and identify patterns that may have served a purpose at one time but are no longer serving you. Our initial sessions will be focused on: exploring the issues that are important to you - determining the goals that want to achieve - and beginning to develop trust, respect, and a personal connection so that you feel safe and understood.

As we work together reducing the constraints that prevent growth and development, energy is free to lead toward transformation. The methods apply to all living human systems, from people, to couples, groups and organizations.

You will learn new ways of relating both to yourself and yourself in relation to the world; with this you can see your problems in a new light and find solutions by reducing what's in your way to making more satisfying choices.

Together we will work together to uncover your hopes and dreams, identify and reduce your obstacles, allowing for the possibility of turning your potential into reality.

PSYCHOTHERAPY CAN OFTEN LEAD TO:

  • More fulfilling relationships
  • Better understanding of yourself
  • Significant reduction in feelings of distress
  • Better control over life situations
  • Solutions to specific problems
  • Reduction of depressive symptoms
  • Healing of emotional wounds
  • Increased life skills
  • Reduction of anxiety
  • Greater self-confidence
  • A rise in self-esteem and better moods

WHAT ABOUT MEDICATION?

Prescribing medications will be handled with an appointment with our staff psychiatrist. We also diagnose and make treatment recommendations to your primary care physician. Almost all of the medical doctors in our area are quite familiar with our doctors and work hand in hand with us to ensure that you are receiving the best care possible. If needed, we will make a referral to a specialist for you. However almost all of our patients find that psychotherapy or counseling is the best solution as it helps you to take control over your situation and within a few weeks there is great improvement.

Most research shows that therapy is equally as successful in treating mental health disorders.
